Covid 19 plan for safe operation and prevention
As we are introduced to the new reality facing our society amidst the covid 19 pandemic, Achieve Driving School recognizes the importance for safety of our staff and customers. We are implementing a plan based on guidelines provided by provincial and federal health care authorities and we will put in place procedures similar to ride sharing and taxi companies. Our instructors will be required to wear medical or cloth masks, latex gloves, sanitize their hands and they must ensure the vehicle will be sanitized with Lysol or similar disinfectant products before and after each lesson. Instructors will also use at their discretion a thermal temperature scanner as an extra step if they suspect students might have flu symptoms. All controls in car will be sanitized ie:outside and inside door handle, steering wheel, turn and wiper switches, hand brake and dash. Driver trainers will be required to inform students if they had flu like symptoms, reschedule appointments, remain at home and follow the guidelines for covid 19 provincial and federal health care authorities. Instructors must inform the driving school if tested positive for covid 19 and remain in quarantine for 14 days. All students practicing in car lessons will be required to wear a medical or cloth mask, sanitize their hands with hand sanitizer-provided and they must acknowledge they were not sick with flu like symptoms or have not been in contact with someone that had flu like symptoms for the past 14 days. In the event the student feels that it has flu like symptoms they must inform the instructor before lesson, follow Health Canada guidelines, remain in quarantine for 14 days and if tested positive inform the driving school so the lesson could be rescheduled at a later date. We realize that the new policies could be challenging and uncomfortable but in order to prevent and eradicate this pandemic that is affecting the entire global population everyone must do their part and we must adhere by the government policies until informed otherwise. Achieve Driving School reserve the right to refuse training to anyone that does not abide by the new school policy or Health Canada guidelines. Achieve driving school policy
Proud to be Canadian
- Each lesson is 60 min. in length and contains 50 min. of practice time and 10 min of lecture. Lesson starts when the school vehicle arrives at pickup location and ends when school vehicle arrives at drop off location. Fee for each 60 min. lesson is $55 payable before the start of each lesson. Package fee per hour may be lower, please see our training fees below.
- A dash cam may record the road outside the vehicle for training, dangerous drivers and video proof for insurance purposes.
- We offer one-on-one training however one other person may be in the vehicle for observation purposes.
- Anyone booking an appointment must read the school policy and confirm appointment with school 48hrs prior. Students must be 19 to book an appointment with Achieve Driving School and pay for lessons. If not 19 a parental consent must be presented or a parent must contact school to give permission. Please give the school a minimum of 48 hrs. notice if cancelling a lesson to avoid a $25 cancellation fee. We charge a $25 fee for no shows, please check the ICBC Cancellation Policy
- We do not offer refunds for lessons already completed. If you have prepaid and wish to discontinue training, we will refund the balance for lessons not completed. We do not tolerate foul language or aggressive behavior and reserve the right to refuse training to anyone.
- Training fees: Pay as you go per hour is $50 and we offer the following package specials: 6-hrs. for $350, 10-hrs.$525, 20-hrs.$1000, 12 hrs.$660 (2 students) 2 brush-up&road test lessons: Rd-Test.A- 3 hrs pkg. for $200, Rd-Test B-4 hrs. pkg. for $255. *The school vehicle is provided for the road test on all packages however you may choose to take lessons only. *The use of vehicle for road test accounts for 1-hr. *All road test packages must be paid in advance.
- Students must give the school a 72 hrs. notice to cancel a road test booked by the school. Failure to do this may result in ICBC charging the student a $25 late cancellation fee.
- With the approval of the instructor, students may use the school vehicle for road test for an extra fee of $75 paid in advance or take any packages that include the car. If the instructor believes the student can not operate the training vehicle safely, will advise student and may deny the use of training vehicle for the road test until such time the student is ready and can operate the vehicle safely.
- All training must be completed within 3 months. *Exceptions may be applied for circumstances that can not be prevented. Students must read and sign the student record confirming they read the school policy.
- All students must present driver license before lesson. If driver license is not available a $25 cancellation fee will be applied and lesson rescheduled.
- We do not assume responsibility for being late or rescheduling an appointment due to circumstances we can't prevent. ex: weather, traffic, mechanical malfunctions, students forgetting to text and confirm lessons. All students must contact instructor or school to confirm lessons 48 hrs prior to appointments, no appointments will be honored if no contact is made.
- Hygiene. Please ensure you have acceptable hygiene free of body odors when showing up for driving lessons to avoid rescheduling the driving lesson. In case the lesson need to be rescheduled a $25 cancellation fee applies. *We are doing our part in preventing the spread of COVID 19 influenza. We ask all students that have flu like symptoms ie. fewer, runny nose, coughing and sneezing to reschedule their lesson until such time they are cleared by a physician.
